Shhhh Just Be Quiet

Proverbs 26:4 says, Don’t answer the foolish arguments of fools, or you will become as foolish as they are.
That lesson is plain and simple. In case it isn’t, here’s another way to say it. Of course I saw this on the FB newsfeed.

fool meme

My mother taught me this a long time ago, but I didn’t get it right away. She would say, “Shhhh Just be quiet, Tan.” LOL  I appreciate that lesson. It makes a whole lot of sense, huh? 😀

Who Woulda Thunk It?

I saw this meme on the FB newsfeed the other day:

first spoke meme

Antoine and I met many moons ago the year we graduated from high school.  While I don’t remember exactly what we said to each other when we met other then a garden-variety introduction, I do remember the first movie we went to see. 😀  It was Pet Sematary. LOL  Who woulda thunk it?  God, that’s who!!

hey back

God gave us exactly what we needed. Thank you, Jesus!! two hearts

Tackle What He Gave You

Problems suck, huh? There’s sooooo many of them. World hunger, poverty, discrimination, domestic violence, child abuse, incurable diseases, and the list goes on and on. The good thing is, there are enough people here on Earth to tackle them all. (At least to try.) I believe there are about seven billion peeps on this big blue marble. That’s an old children’s TV show by the way. 😀

We’re constantly reminded of the problems in the world by watching the news, reading, and even being approached by petitioners in front of grocery stores.  Sometimes people can be very “passionate” about their cause, huh?  They kinda make us feel like there’s a special place in Hell for us if we don’t give or sign our names which leads me to my point. LOL

hell meme 2
I changed it a bit. LOL

Have you ever felt a deep urge to help in a certain area, but no one else seems interested?  You can’t imagine why other people aren’t trying to solve the problem.  You may even think other people lack compassion because they aren’t as affected by the situation as you. Familiar?  I think it’s a common experience.  We have to pay more attention to the tug in our hearts rather than the so called lack of compassion of the other peeps.  God gave us different passions and interests. It’s up to us to tackle the ones He gave us. 😀  Now I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with trying to make others aware of an existing problem.  Just accept the fact that we all have a different path.  Let’s stay focused on Him and the path that He’s put before us.

I’m not exempt. I’m . . .

Be Grateful

I have A LOT on my mind tonight, but I won’t bore you with everything. I’ll bore you with just a little bit. 🙂  I found out someone I know had to go to a food bank for food. I don’t know. It made me feel some kind of way which I can’t describe. I checked on the person a few times, but didn’t get a response via text or voicemail. I finally got through to the person today. I simply asked, “what do you need?” The request was minimal and I had to press for it.

While I think it’s noble for a person to do whatever they can to survive on their own, I’m not comfortable with a person going to great lengths to hide their need. Is that pride?  The foolish kind? The thought that was attached to the feeling I described earlier was, as long as this person knows me, they shouldn’t have to go to a food bank. My husband and I just helped a person yesterday that we don’t know from Adam, but a person that we know very well had to go to a food bank.

What’s my point?  I don’t really know. Hmmmm, perhaps it is important to help those in need near and far if you can. If you start thinking about someone all of sudden, check on them to make sure they are okay. Ask open ended questions so they will actually have to say more than “yes” or “no”. And thank the Lord for everything you have. There’s always someone that’s worse off than you. Be grateful! I’m not exempt. I’m  . . .

Remember Lot’s Wife!

It’s raining hard outside in sunny California tonight. 😀 I think it’s supposed to continue through Saturday. I’m looking forward to a wonderful day of creative writing tomorrow. You see what I did there? I’m speaking positively to my current situation. I’ve decided to end the shenanigans once and for all.

I Love Memes LOL

Once again, I found myself reading about how important it is to work toward the awesome future God has already planned for us. Remember what Jesus said in Luke 17:32?  Just in case you don’t, I’ll write it:  Remember Lot’s wife!  I may be going out on a limb here, but I think Jesus was saying, stop looking back. 😀 LOL

lot and wife pillar of salt
There’s a meme for everything. LOL

What if we turned into a pillar of salt when we decide to hold onto the past? It must’ve been tough living during that time, huh? 😀 But I guess after being warned by angels to not look back or they would be swept away, you would think that Lot’s wife (I wish I knew her name.) would’ve been a little more motivated. LOL I jest. (Lighten up, will ya?) (Read Gen 18 & 19)

We need to trust God’s plan for us and leave the past behind. Jeremiah 29:11 says, For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

He has a great future for all of us. Let’s keep moving forward. I’m not exempt. I’m  . . .

Don’t Dwell In The Past

According to Wikipedia, writer’s block is a condition, primarily associated with writing, in which an author loses the ability to produce new work or experiences a creative slowdown. And Google says it’s the condition of being unable to think of what to write or how to proceed with writing.  I’ve also heard it defined as when your imaginary friend won’t talk to you. LOL Bottom line . . .

This Too Shall Pass LOL

As I said before, oh well it happens to the best of us. Anyway, so I spent sometime in Isaiah today, Isaiah 43 to be exact. Please read it when you get a chance. One of the verses that stood out to me was Isaiah 43:18 Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.

Need I say more? LOL Okay, maybe not, but I am. 😀  We can’t truly move forward if we hold on to things that happened to us in the past. Holding on to the past and using it as an excuse to not move forward is a self-inflicted hindrance. If God wanted us to dwell in the past, He would’ve put our feet on backwards. I know, corny 2

LOL Here’s one more for you before I say good night. We need to let it go two.

Just blogging it out. Oh and Happy Wednesday Night!!

One more. may the 4th be with you  😀

SAY GOOD-BYE

Today was a tough day. I literally spent most of my day doing this:

writers block grumpy cartoon It happens from time to time. It’s not my favorite, but it comes with the territory.  It’s a struggle for me, but I’ve learned to wait on the Lord for the creative spark in my brain. I did do a few things today besides stare at my laptop. I swept the lower half of our house which resulted in a huge pile of dog hair. I’m surprised Scout, our German Shepherd, isn’t bald. LOL I took her outside so she could get some exercise. I also spent a few minutes looking through the FB newsfeed. I ran across an interesting video of Rickey Smiley giving a heartfelt testimony about letting people go in order to move forward.

Here’s the link in case you’d like to take a look-see: Rickey Smiley Video.

It’s pretty awesome for him to share such a personal testimony to inspire others. It’s definitely something to think about. There were several things he said that stood out to me, but I’ll only mention one. When you finally get to that point where you really want to please God with your life, the enemy will do whatever he can to distract you. He knows exactly what buttons to push and a lot of times he will use the people that are in our lives to try to hold us back.  Instead of focusing our attention on the negativity, we need to focus on God. I’ve heard and said this (written) before, but I guess I needed to hear it again today. We have to continue to love and pray for everyone no matter what and show each other grace for sure. But there are some folks in our lives that are being used by the enemy to try to keep us from fulfilling our purpose. We have to pray, study His word, and stay focused on Him. SAY GOOD-BYE TO NEGATIVITY!! 😀

I’m not exempt. I’m . . .

New Month=New Goals

Well, I completed two of the three writing goals I set last month. I almost completed my third goal, but I didn’t pull it off. Since it’s a new month, the goal I didn’t complete last month is my number one writing goal for the month of May.  I have to keep moving forward.

I ran across the following in a daily devotional book  I read everyday by Joyce Meyer:  I will press on until I reach my goal and enjoy the reward when I’ve received the prize! Of course the basis of this thought is from Philippians 3:14. Read it when you get a chance.

What are your goals for the month of May?

239 Days Until Christmas!

Here we are at the end of the month AGAIN!! Time is really flying by, huh? Okay, it isn’t, but it sure feels like it is. Christmas will be here before we know it. 😀 LOL Take sometime to enjoy life this weekend. Love yourself and forgive everyone for everything. 😀 I’m not exempt. I’m . . .
