Merry Christmas!

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6)

Well, it’s that time of the year again. Right now, we’re watching A Christmas Story on TNT. Ralphie just decoded his Little Orphan Annie message. His father is trying to fix the furnace and his mother just broke the leg lamp. LOL Watching this movie reminds me of Christmas when I was a kid. It was all about receiving as many gifts as I could. I think we received the first Christmas catalog in the mail in September and I believe it was from Sears. The closest I got to a sermon about the real meaning of Christmas was Linus’ speech in A Charlie Brown Christmas. It’s funny, but I’m TOTALLY serious.

Of course, as an adult, things are different. Although we know Jesus wasn’t born on December 25th or even in the winter, we celebrate the fact that He was indeed born and He is our hope. So now, for me, it’s not about presents. It’s about His presence in my life. See what I did there? LOL

I pray you’re having a blessed time with your friends and family. Even though the holiday season is considered the most wonderful time of the year, most of us have some form of drama going on in our lives. (I didn’t say you’re affected by it, I said it’s there.) If you don’t have your own, just watch the news. My point is, we all have something going on that can upset us. But there’s ALWAYS HOPE IN OUR LORD, JESUS CHRIST and it goes beyond the end of the year.

May you carry the hope of Christ with you every day of your life.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Just blogging it out!!
