STICK-TO-ITIVENESS

Stick-to-itiveness-the quality that allows Tanya M. Saldana to continue trying to do something even though it is difficult or unpleasant.

It seems like I’ve been working on AUTUMN MOON for almost three years.  Oh wait . . . I have. LOL Book 2 was supposed to be done by the end of this month, but I guess I will be working on it in July.  😀  I will continue until I’m done no matter what.  Stick-to-itiveness makes quitting difficult especially if you were given a triple portion like I was given.  LOL

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. (Galatians 6:9)

Here’s a funny before I go:

The Strange Zone

No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me, Says the Lord. (Isaiah 54:17)

I had one of those moments today where one situation led to a bunch of useless thoughts.  You ever had that happened?  No?  Hmmm, well maybe it’s just me.  LOL Here’s what happened:

Our GSD, Scout, had an upset stomach today.  It was nothing major, but lets just say she dropped a few unusual loads in the backyard.  Sorry, but I have to give you the facts. LOL  Anyway, while I was trying to figure out what she could’ve eaten to cause the slight sickness, I remembered all the mysterious foreign objects and trash we’ve found in our backyard.  That thought led to me being annoyed with my neighbors for not watching their kids especially that time I found a dart sticking out of our grass.  The dart could’ve really hurt one of us.  Then I remembered when the dog next door came in our yard MONTHS ago, but still it looked really sick.  Oh, and then I remembered the time some of our neighbor’s trash blew in our yard and how Scout was chewing on a napkin.  They’re probably doing that on purpose. LOL

You see what I mean?  I finally had to say, “No weapon, girl. No weapon.” 😀  Okay, that was a little overboard.  If we’re not focused on God, the enemy will take our thoughts into THE STRANGE ZONE. By the way, Scout is doing just fine and I’m going to bed.  Good night.

Let’s Do It!

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever. (Psalm 107:1)

This has been a very busy month for me and now it’s CRUNCH TIME!! And I don’t mean (pic)

crunch bar . LOL There’s one goal I’m still trying to accomplish.  It’s not impossible, but it will be a bit of a challenge.  I thank God for His love for us. His goodness is life changing if we focus on Him.  Let’s do it!

NO MATTER WHAT

It’s a peaceful night for Antoine, Scout, and me.  Oh how I enjoy our simple life. 😀  Before I say good night, check out this meme I saw on Facebook today.

It reminded me of the thoughts I used to have about God when I was a child.  My prayers usually went something like this, “God, please gimme gimme gimme”. LOL If I didn’t get what I asked for, I thought there was either something wrong with Him or me. Of course as an adult and a follower of Christ, I know God is good  no matter what.  He wants the best for us and sometimes what we ask for is not the best.  Let’s stay focused on Him and His plan for us. Have a blessed weekend!

FRIENDS: How Many of Us Have Them

One of my favorite sitcoms is FRIENDS.

I like it because of the funny antics and lighthearted topics.  I love the New York coffee house setting and all the colorful background characters who never get to sit on the Central Perk’s couch. 😀  All the characters have different personalities and interests yet they seem to still get along.  Yeah, they have disagreements and Monica and Rachel have even had a full on head flicking, butt slapping windmill fight. LOL

It would be nice to have a group of friends like the ones portrayed on TV, but in reality true friends are hard to come by.

Here’s the story . . . 😀

While I was working this morning, I had one of those moments where I acknowledged an irk.  It was just sitting in my face like . . .

irk.pngLOL

Ugh!! Go away Irk.  I decided to call my friend who I’ve known since our freshman year of high school.  That’s a lonnnnnnnnnnng time.  😀  She knew me before I was a Christian so she’s seen the good, the bad, and the ugly sides of Tanya M. Saldana.  LOL We don’t talk often and we hardly see each other because she lives in Illinois.  But you know what, we always chat like no time has passed.  The conversation made me feel a whole lot better.  She even identified my true frustration.  There was no criticism, no finger pointing, salt pouring (on wound), over analyzing, labeling, and no filters.  That’s actually how our friendship has always been.

We come in contact with a lot of people throughout our lives.  How many of those people can we  actually call true friends?  The ones who really know you.  The ones who will say, “un un, she wouldn’t do that” if you’re being accused of something behind your back.  The ones who don’t have unrealistic expectations of us.  The ones who are by our side when things are not going so well and our loudest cheerleader when they are.  My definition or standards of a friend may be different from yours, but I’m sure you understand.

I thank God for my friend.  I pray the Lord will bless her and her family beyond anything they can ask or imagine.  I’m talking mega-blessings where the cup runneth over onto the floor and seeps under the doors and runneth right outside. LOL A little overboard, huh?  You get my drift.

P.S.  How many of you know where I got the title of this blog post from?

God’s Creativity

I’ve been fascinated by the moon for as long as I can remember.  Tonight’s rare Strawberry Moon brought out the super geek in me.  😀 I hope you got a chance to see it.  If you didn’t, don’t fret.  We’ll see another one in 2062.  LOL

God’s creativity is my motivation tonight.  I was blessed with a new story idea that will be a stage play next year.  I can’t wait to see how the story will unfold.  I don’t have much to write about.  Today was a tough day, but I will continue to stay focused on the Lord no matter what.  Anyway, that’s all for tonight.

Happy Father’s Day!

I mentioned yesterday that I spent most of my life without a father.  By the grace of God, I turned out pretty well if I say so myself. LOL ;D  However, I know for a fact that every little girl needs her daddy. If you’re a man and have been blessed to have children . . . a little girl, love her so she knows how she should be treated by other men.  Respected! Protected! Loved! Important! Intelligent! Beautiful! Like a lady.  Teach her to never settle for less even if society tells her otherwise. You are her greatest example. Enjoy your weekend. I hope you get more than a tie. 😀
