One of my favorite sitcoms is FRIENDS.
I like it because of the funny antics and lighthearted topics. I love the New York coffee house setting and all the colorful background characters who never get to sit on the Central Perk’s couch. 😀 All the characters have different personalities and interests yet they seem to still get along. Yeah, they have disagreements and Monica and Rachel have even had a full on head flicking, butt slapping windmill fight. LOL
It would be nice to have a group of friends like the ones portrayed on TV, but in reality true friends are hard to come by.
Here’s the story . . . 😀
While I was working this morning, I had one of those moments where I acknowledged an irk. It was just sitting in my face like . . .
LOL
Ugh!! Go away Irk. I decided to call my friend who I’ve known since our freshman year of high school. That’s a lonnnnnnnnnnng time. 😀 She knew me before I was a Christian so she’s seen the good, the bad, and the ugly sides of Tanya M. Saldana. LOL We don’t talk often and we hardly see each other because she lives in Illinois. But you know what, we always chat like no time has passed. The conversation made me feel a whole lot better. She even identified my true frustration. There was no criticism, no finger pointing, salt pouring (on wound), over analyzing, labeling, and no filters. That’s actually how our friendship has always been.
We come in contact with a lot of people throughout our lives. How many of those people can we actually call true friends? The ones who really know you. The ones who will say, “un un, she wouldn’t do that” if you’re being accused of something behind your back. The ones who don’t have unrealistic expectations of us. The ones who are by our side when things are not going so well and our loudest cheerleader when they are. My definition or standards of a friend may be different from yours, but I’m sure you understand.
I thank God for my friend. I pray the Lord will bless her and her family beyond anything they can ask or imagine. I’m talking mega-blessings where the cup runneth over onto the floor and seeps under the doors and runneth right outside. LOL A little overboard, huh? You get my drift.
Just blogging it out . . . Oh and Happy Wednesday Night!! 😀
P.S. How many of you know where I got the title of this blog post from?
You’re so right! Good friends are hard to come by. Thanks for sharing and I pray for a really great friendship for myself.
