Agree With God

13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. (Psalm 139:13, 14)

While editing Book 1 of the Autumn Moon series, I ran across a good reminder for all of us. Here’s a little snippet:

Daddy always says, there’s always someone who is better or worse than you in some area. There’s no need to look for them. God created you the way you are for a reason. To wish to be something different is an insult to God.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. We all have a purpose and are all important to God. There’s no need to compare ourselves to other people. It’s a waste of time. Instead, we should seek the Lord for our purpose. Reject negative thoughts and agree with God. Say, “I AM FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE!”

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. (Psalm 107:1)

Only twenty-eight pages of edits left. I would love to finish tonight but I’m actually typing this with my eyes closed. LOL

God is so good. It is better to focus on His goodness than the foolishness all around us. Thank Him for what you have instead of pouting about what you don’t have. He’ll give us exactly what we need. We have to trust Him.

Honor God 4 Life

2 Timothy 2:21 “…he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.”

hg pic

Yup, that’s me in the not so flattering pic. It was taken after a long day and after a rehearsal that made me question just about everything I’m doing. Have you ever had one of those days?

bird thinking

LOL It’s pretty cool that I was wearing the HG brand that day. The HG stands for Honor God 4 Life. Christianity is a lifestyle, not a religion. The choices I make and the way I live my life is a direct reflection of my love for Jesus. How much I trust Him. When faced with opposition, I have to . . . we have to choose to honor God with our actions and reactions. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. I have a purpose to fulfill and nothing is going to stop me. My focus is on the Lord, not humans.

As long as we have breath in our bodies, conflicts will arise. They are an opportunity for growth. Or, you can always stay exactly where you are, your comfort zone. That’s a good place to blame everyone else around you for your problems instead of taking responsibility for your actions and reactions. I know you won’t choose the latter. 😀

Wake up every morning with the mindset to honor God. Go to https://shop.honorgod4life.com/ to get your t-shirt today. You never know when you’ll need a reminder to Honor God 4 Life. I’m not exempt. I’m . . .

Where Is Your Hope?

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary,  they will walk and not be faint. (Isaiah 40:31)

“Here today, gone tomorrow.” “Easy come, easy go.” “All good things must come to an end.”

The above quotes are a result of change. Everything changes except for the Lord. If we put our hope in the things that change, we will be sadly disappointed. We must keep our focus on our Heavenly Father who will NEVER change.

You’re In Good Hands

Many plans are in a man’s mind, But it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand (be carried out). (Proverbs 19:21 amp)

I have been falling asleep much earlier this week. Yesterday, a quick blink (so I thought) while trying to think of something to write about, ended up being a six hour slumber and no blog post. LOL

The bible verse above is one of my favorite. Of course if a seemingly good plan is interrupted, it’s natural to feel a little . . . inconvenienced. 😀 Soon after the initial shock, recognize God’s plan is ultimately the best. You’re in good hands and I don’t mean Allstate. LOL Corny, I know. 😀

Proverbs 13:4 Lazy people want much but get little, but those who work hard will prosper.

The book of Proverbs hit cha right in the throat, doesn’t it? LOL

Last night I was trying to finish a chapter before going to bed. Well, I fell asleep briefly with my fingers still on the keyboard of my laptop. I woke up to a page full of M’s. LOL I’m no stranger to hard work. In fact, I’ve never gotten anything easy a day in my life. Oh wait, I went to a restaurant for lunch this past Sunday where I was blessed with a free meal. Definitely, a rare occurrence. LOL

While pursuing our goals, there are plenty of lessons we need to learn along the way. The lessons are usually hard, but worth every drop of blood, sweat, and tears that’s produced. When we get tired, we have to decide to rest, and not quit. God’s strength will get us through if we stay focused on Him. Don’t let the enemy fool you into a rut of laziness. Your hard work will eventually pay off.

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. (Ephesians 2:10)

God's masterpiece

Who do you think you are? Sometimes what we think about ourselves depends on our circumstances. If we earn an ‘A’ on a test, we believe we’re smart. For me, if I can give the correct answers while watching Jeopardy, I believe I’m super smart. LOL If we make a mistake, usually, even if it’s temporary, our thoughts about ourselves are negative. People have their opinions about us as we have our opinions about people. With all those thoughts floating around, things can get pretty confusing, huh? I’d rather agree with God. We are God’s masterpiece.

What’s Next, Lord?

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.(Philippians 4:6,7)

I had conversations about my recent unexpected (see yesterday’s post) news with the “no matter what I’m sticking by your side” peeps in my life. The news shocked them and I believe they were a little sad. There were a lot of whaaaaats, awwwwwwws, and wows. This morning I asked myself how I was feeling about it. I can honestly say, it’s still all good. 😀 Complete peace.

I’m praying for guidance for what I should do next. I have plenty of ideas, but I’d rather get direction from the Lord.

The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you. (Psalm 32:8)

For me, it’s easy to slip into the “I gotta fix it mode”. I’m going to avoid that mode this time. I’ll take His way over my way any day. 😀

It’s All Good

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)

If you know anything about the book publishing world, then you know how hard it is for a new author to get a publisher to look at their work let alone receive a contract offer. It’s a long process. In fact, I believe it took about a year for me to receive a contract for my book, Autumn Moon.

About eight months later, the contract has been canceled. Yup, you read it correctly. I received an email today at 5:47 pm from the publishing company. They’re shutting down the fiction sector due to financial reasons. The email was definitely unexpected, but I am at complete peace about everything. As I’m typing this, I’m thinking about the owner of the company. In a situation like this, it’s easy to focus on yourself. After all, I do believe a canceled literary contract would be considered disappointing in anyone’s book, right? But the publisher is losing so much more. I will continue to pray for everyone who is a part of that company including the owner/president.

I know for a fact without a shadow of a doubt, God is in control. He knows exactly what He’s doing and all I need to do is trust Him. It’s all good! 😀

We all know those people who are going to try to analyze this to figure out why this happened. Especially those who weren’t happy for me in the first place. I’m sure people will concluded I must’ve done something wrong for this to have happened. LOL The truth is, the company is having financial problems and all authors lost their contracts. That’s it. That’s all. I have to keep moving forward. I posted this yesterday. I will  . . .

Peace & Truth

James 1:2-4 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

Yup, that’s what the bible says. LOL I know it’s true, but sometimes it takes a minute (or 55 hours) for me to remember. 😀 Today was one of those days.

hit in the headLOL

Not a bad day. Just busy and a little stressful. Nothing I haven’t experienced before. On days like today, I usually crave the four major food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns, and syrup.  😀

Buddy, The Elf

When I was in college, I gave into the cravings while doing homework or studying for a test. I didn’t realize at the time I was a stress eater. Of course eating junk food doesn’t solve problems and it doesn’t reduce stress. There are many coping mechanisms for reducing stress–healthy ones, but the ultimate stress reliever for me is God’s word because it gives me peace and truth.

No matter what comes my way, I will focus on the Lord, even if it takes me a minute (or 55 hours LOL) and I will . . .
