It’s back to school time for the kiddies!! 😀 No, Antoine and I don’t have any children, but I still find myself excited. LOL Of course that wasn’t always the case. I dreaded the “A” word when I was a kid. Back then, August was probably my least favorite month of the year with all of its back to school sales, introduction to the fall wardrobe, and the count down to the end of summer vacation. 😦 But there was one thing that hurt my feelings more than anything else as a kid living in the south suburbs of Chicago–that darn Bud Billiken back to school day parade. For me, the advertisements for the event was a slap in the face. LOL The promoters didn’t care when they played the commercials. They played them during the commercial breaks of Scooby-Doo, Woody Woodpecker, the Super Friends, you name it. I mean, how could they be so insensitive. It was a known fact that school usually started a week or two after the Bud Billiken Parade. No more neighborhood Hide and Seek at night, sleeping in late, barbeques, or freedom to just chill. LOL
Actually, the Bud Billiken Parade was and is pretty awesome. It’s one of the biggest parades in the United States and a very big deal to Chicago and the surrounding cities.
So what are your plans for the month of August? It’s production season for me and I will continue working on my books as much as I can. I’m looking forward to making a lot of progress as I continue to focus on the Lord.
Just blogging it out . . . OH and Happy Monday Night!
P.S. Remember to pray for our country. Prepare to vote and continue to depend on the Lord.
My plans are to not evaporate from the heat. LOL. I want to keep be out the purpose God has created in me.
